Today in Math we continued to review division. Remember, students need to be comfortable using either the subtraction or the the long division strategies that we have studied. Tomorrow we will begin our unit review and Monday we will be having a unit test for Multiplication and Division. There are resources under "Multiplication and Division" that students can use to help review for the test. Students will also be bringing home review work tomorrow and Friday that they are asked to complete at home with a parent if possible.

In Language Arts today we continued to learn more about planning narrative writing. Today we finished our "Before" and "After" planning for the following picture prompt:

Next we began to plan the beginning, middle, and end of our story. To do this we remember CSP (Characters, Setting, Problem). We also divide our story into three parts. The beginning introduces the characters, setting, and problem. The middle has the characters attempt to solve the problem and failing. The end has the characters succeeding and lets the reader know how the characters feel, what happens next, etc. The following video can provide a closer understanding of how we are planning our stories:

In Science today, students have begun their final project for Mechanisms Using Electricity. Students are creating a circuit that uses a switch to set off an alarm if someone opens one of our Chromebook boxes. We've already had two groups successful in building their alarms. I can't wait to share everyone's work. Next week, we move on to Chemistry. Our student teacher Ms. P will be teaching Chemistry and I can't wait to see what she comes up with.
