Please see the following email, shared earlier today:

Good morning,

Before I begin with our usual updates, a quick note to let parents know that there will be no extra-curricular clubs/activities after school tomorrow, Wednesday, December 18th. Both Sharpen the Saw Club and Sign Language Club are cancelled and will resume again in January. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

Just a few reminders in regards to our last week of school for 2019! First, thanks to our Christina Gordon School Fundraising Association, our students will be treated to their second annual Winter Feast tomorrow! The Winter Feast will be available for all students from ECDP to Grade 6. The Fundraising Association will be providing a turkey dinner for our students, with vegetarian lasagne as a option for our vegetarian students. Because only the dinner is being provided, students are still encouraged to bring their usual snacks along with something to drink with their dinner if they wish. A huge thanks to the parents on our Fundraising Association for once again providing this very special event to help us celebrate the holiday season.

Second, even though Winter Feast is tomorrow, we will still have a small classroom celebration on Thursday. As a class, we have made some decisions about what we would like to do for our celebration. As we are getting to eat together tomorrow at Winter Feast, we are not going to have snacks at our classroom celebration. Instead, we have decided on two activites. First, we are going to be working together to build some obstacle courses. Students will be in teams and create a winter-themed obstacle course that we can then participate in. Second, we are going to be building some blanket forts. Thursday is already Pyjama Day. We are going to take it one step further. Students can bring in blankets, pillows, etc. and we will be building some blanket forts that we can then play some party games, read in, etc. with flashlights so we are truly warm and cozy!

Third, a reminder that we have two deadlines approaching this week. Students have until Thursday to bring in any Food Bank donations for our ongoing Food Bank Drive. Families also have until Thursday to place any December book orders. I will be closing the orders on Friday, so please make sure that you complete your order by Thursday evening. Thanks everyone! As always, please let me know if you have any questions or concerns in regards to any of the above,

- Ashley Barrington, Grade 3 Teacher
