In Math today, both Grades 4 and 5 began to work on division. The Grade 4 students are practicing division using arrays. The Grade 5 students are practicing estimating quotients. In order to be successful at division, it is important that both grades continue to practice their multiplication. Grade 4's should be working on mastering their basic facts. Grade 5's should be working on mastering their basic facts AND multiplying multi-digit numbers. Remember to practice at home. There are extra games, workbooks, etc. available under "Multiplying and Dividing" for both grades as well as "Fact Practice."

In Science today, students reviewed some of the Weather vocabulary we had learned in our previous unit of study. We are checking students memory and understanding before moving on to a new topic. We will continue our review tomorrow and Thursday before moving on.

In Language Arts today, students continued to look at different examples of spoken-word poetry. I have added a playlist of the poems we have studied under "Writing," for both grades. Today we looked at two poems by Shane Koyczan.

Tomorrow we will be writing our own poems about Kindness.
