Please see the following email, shared earlier this evening: Good evening, Welcome back everyone. I hope that everyone is safe and well during this stressful time. If there is anyone that needs assistance or support please let me know. The school would love to support you in any way that we can. This school year, the students had been enjoying the Team Canada Champion Chats program. This program has olympic and paralympic athletes coach students on a variety of mental health topics throughout the year. We had fun learning about balance (both in life and in athletics), the importance of goal setting, practice, etc. However, due to school closure we were unable to complete the program. Well, I am happy to share with families that the program has taken some time to create some new videos and challenges for students to use at home during this time. Knowing there may be students interested in continuing the program from home, I wanted to share the first video and challenge activity with you. This week's activity is all about representation and creativity - mascots! Attached are the supplied video and PDF for families that are interested. A quick note, Mrs. Power will be doing another sing along on her classroom Facebook page tomorrow, Tuesday, at 1:00 pm if any families are interested in joining her. If you cannot make it live, you can always go back and watch the recording later at a more convenient time. A reminder that this week's continuity plan will be shared this Friday at approximately 1:00 pm with students and families on Seesaw. As per previous weeks, I will also send an email later in the day with a PDF version as well as the video links for families that are not consistently using Seesaw. In the meantime, students can take some time this week to get caught up on previous plans, complete some of the extra activities, or even just relax and play with family. Please do what is best for your student and your family. Below are some of the video links that have been shared to Seesaw since our last email update: April 27th - Read Aloud April 27th - Multiplication Monday (4x) April 28th - Read Aloud May 4th - Read Aloud May 4th - Multiplication Monday (5x) Students are also always welcome to use Mathletics, Reading Eggs, or Raz Kids while working from home; to get some extra math and reading practice. If you need assistance with a student's account (ie. login information, passwords, etc.), please let me know. Have a wonderful week and please let me know if you have questions or concerns in regards to any of the above, - Ashley Barrington, Grade 3 Teacher
