Please see the following email, shared yesterday evening:

Good evening,

Just a reminder that we will be having a small classroom celebration on Thursday, October 31st. Just a reminder that at Christina Gordon Public School we are committed to being a healthy school! As a proud APPLE School, we strive to promote healthy eating, an active lifestyle and positive well being in all we do! We follow provincial nutrition and physical activity guidelines as well as FMPSD’s District Administrative Procedure 164. As such, for our classroom celebration, we will have some snack options that help encourage the healthy habits we are striving to promote. As a class we are going to synergize to make (and eat) some healthy treats! We will be making some vegetable skeletons and some orange jack o'lanterns. Students can collaborate and work together to make their ghoulish delights and then enjoy their delicious creations. If you are able to supply an ingredient for the above, please add your name to the attached document (Snack/Ingredient Sign-Up Sheet) along with the ingredient that you will supply. Any items that parents are able to send pre-sliced or cut would be greatly appreciated. Families are in no way obligated to bring ingredients. I will provide whatever else is needed so that everyone can participate. Please remember that snacks that meet the provincial guidelines and adhere to the District Administrative Procedure we follow can be shared with classmates during organized class celebrations but those that do not, cannot be. As such, please do not send in any snack items that are outside of our guidelines or they will have to be returned home. Please remember we are a nut sensitive school. We will also be working together to create our own spooky obstacle courses for a fun, collaborative, daily physical activity break. Students are welcome to wear costumes to school, however, we will ask that students remove masks in the hallways or common areas for safety purposes. We also ask that families be mindful that costumes are appropriate for a K-6 school (ie. weapons, etc.). Our annual costume parade will be held at 10:00 am. Families are welcome to attend, just be sure to sign in at the front office.
