Grade 3B Info., Updates, News

Wait until you see what we've been up to...

Today was: Day 4
Tomorrow is: Day 5

Thank you for the wonderful day Grade 5. I know that some of you have moved on to Ms. Henry's Grade 5 class next door, but you will always be welcome to come and visit me in Grade 4/5. Remember, I'm only a door away!

Today we continued to review creating and reading line graphs. Then, we discussed bar graphs. In Grade 4, students should have gained an understanding of how to read basic bar graphs. In Grade 5, we will be adding double bar graphs to our repertoire.

A few notes from Mrs. Allingham, chair of the Christina Gordon Fundraising Association:

Just a friendly reminder that hot lunch ordering is open until September 25th.  Please remember all orders must be paid by Paypal by this date in order for them to be placed.  Once the hot lunch ordering is closed on September 25th, no further orders can be submitted for October’s hot lunch.  November’s hot lunch ordering will be open on October 1st, 2017.

Volunteers for the hot lunch program are needed.  If you are able to help, please sign up.  http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080B44AEAB2CABFC1-hotlunch

Also, any CG family that would like a table for our Fall Market on November 18th are encouraged to contact us at [email protected].  On September 22nd, tables will open to the public for this great event.

Also, please see the note that was emailed home today from Mr. Thorne is regards to microwaves in the classrooms:

Dear Parent,

Because your child's safety is our main concern, please be advised that classrooms at Christina Gordon will not have microwaves.   We do fully recognize that many children use microwaves safely,  however, many do not or cannot.

Once our hot lunch program starts in October, students will have hot lunches available twice weekly.  This, combined with the abundance of thermos containers on the market today, should mean that children can still have access to hot lunches each day if they wish.

Sincerely,

Rick Thorne

And finally, a note from Mr. Rutledge and myself in regards to Tech & Trades Academy:

Christina Gordon is taking registrations for its 2017-2018 Tech and Trade Academy. The Academy is a 1 hour after school program that will have two streams (Multi -Media, and Pre -Engineering), each studying 3 different courses. It is a 4-year program which students progress through each year. Students who apply should be keen and dedicated to attending all sessions. They will interact in all 3 courses from the stream they choose throughout the school year. For more information on each stream please visit mrrutsclass.ca.

To register follow the link to the online form:

Please do use Mr. Rutledge's website for further information. My "Technology" page hasn't been updated for the new school year yet. If you are having difficulties with registration, please let myself ([email protected]) or Mr. Rutledge ([email protected]) know as soon as possible.
