Grade 3B Info., Updates, News

Wait until you see what we've been up to...

Welcome back everyone!

We had a wonderful first day of school. To get the year started we began by discussing our classroom rules and expectations. You can view the information I shared with students in the slideshow below:

We also got to know one another with an Autograph game. Did you know that Manish is an only child? Or that Danica was born in Alberta? Hopefully you learned some interesting new facts about your classmates.

Students also unpacked their school supplies. Thank you to everyone who brought in their supplies today. I know it is a lot to pack and carry all at once! This year students are not going to be assigned an individual desk. We will be relying on shared shelves, bins, and our lockers to keep our items organized. This is because we are going to be using "Flexible Seating" in our classroom this year. This is being done with the hopes of increasing engagement and allowing the students more choice. Some of the seating options that we already have available are: desks, tables, the floor, using reading pillows, etc. We also are fortunate enough to have two standing desks in our classroom for students who need to move a little bit more while they work. More options will continue to be added throughout the year as we practice and get used to using our classroom in this way. I will continue to share more information about "Flexible Seating" throughout the week. For now, feel free to read about the benefits of both "Flexible Seating" and standing desks in classrooms:

I've also sent home some handouts today that I would like students to review with their parents. Please make sure that you return the Information Form and the Google Form as quickly as possible! They are also attached below:

Have a great night everyone!
